RootsTech Innovator Showdown Finalists Announced
Update: This post was about the 2016 RootsTech Innovator Showdown Finalists. As registration for the 2017 Rootstech conference is now open links to the details previously available for the 2016 conference are no longer available on the Rootstech website.
One of the goals for Rootstech is to promote the development of new and useful applications for family historians. Tonight at Rootstech they announced the six finalists for the second annual RootsTech Innovator Showdown. A battle for $100,000 in total cash and prizes. It started with forty-six teams and after the rounds of judging only six remain.
Earlier in the day, I watched the innovator showdown semifinal round. These were short presentations given by the 12 semi-finalists in a Shark Tank-style event. After the 2 minute presentations, the judges asked questions to help benchmark contestants further. They were interested in readiness to market, market potential, scalability for growth, and more.
The Innovator Showdown is the final event in the challenge where the finalists take the big stage and battle for $100,000 in total cash and prizes. It is Rootstech on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Hall D.
Here are the Finalists:
